[Not] Immune.
Saturday, November 1, 2008
"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." - John Fitzgerald Kennedy (May 29, 1917 – November 22, 1963)
As I see the world around me crumbling, I can't help but feel immune. I have been blessed to still be alive, having food on my table, a roof over my head, a warm bed to sleep in, and a supportive family embracing me and my adventures every single day.
I turn on the news and I see the economy plummetting into an abyss of uncertainty. But I hold in my heart that whatever happens, I will be okay. I have to think that way. I NEED to hold on to that one thought because without it I may fall victim to desperation.
Am I the only one that feels like a dark cloud is hovering overhead? Am I the only one counting my blessings and still feeling greatful?
To my commentors: I honestly appreciate and can respect a person that has an opinion and executes it w/ integrity.
